The moon flow is a nurturing alternative to the Ashtanga series.

Many Ashtangis use a moon flow when working with injury, on the full moon, or when they are menstruating. Vinyasa practitioners love the steady energy of the sequence and how it feels calming.

All levels are welcome! No experience required.

Led by Gemma, who has been practising Ashtanga for over 20 years, throughout life’s ups and downs. She will meet you with warmth and kindness.

This is Ashtanga Yoga and an example of the Mysore style of this practice, named after the beautiful city of Mysore in southern India 🇮🇳

Yoga Space’s Mysore program has been running since 2005, when Dr Jean Byrne and Dr Rob Schutze received teaching authorisation in this lineage. ⁠The Mysore mornings are currently taught by Authorised teacher Elena Pinto, GP-Yoga Teacher Tricia and Respiratory Scientist- Yoga Teacher Eva.

So what is Ashtanga Yoga?
Ashtanga Yoga offers a dynamic and structured practice that follows a set series of postures, synchronised with the breath 🌬️

Sadly, the Instagram version of Ashtanga often focuses on extreme postures and extreme adjustments. Maybe that’s fun for some, but it is not the heart of this practice. Also there’s been too many abuses of power in ASHTANGA to teach this way 😳.

Ashtanga gives you the opportunity to develop a daily practice and cultivate self-discipline (tapas 🔥). For our teachers and students, it becomes an anchor throughout all stages of life.

No matter what stage you’re at, everyone is welcome, this practice can be customised to suit your individual needs 🤍

Supporting anxious children is not about fixing them, it’s about understanding what’s happening in their mind and body + giving them tools that help them feel safe. 🥰

This course was developed from decades of clinical practice, parenting and teaching experience.

Dr Rob Schütze is a Senior Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience supporting people with anxiety.

Dr Jean Byrne is a mental health researcher, primary school teacher, provisional Psychologist, senior yoga teacher, and yoga therapist.

Together, this course brings evidence-based psychology and yoga therapy into one gentle, practical offering.

You will find additional resources to support your kids with their anxiety off the mat, alongside home practice for you as a parent/carer. Why do we encourage you to practice? Because your nervous system is the eco system in which your children are growing up.

The practices in this course are designed to help children teens (and adults!) to learn to:

• practice conscious calming breaths
• regulate their nervous systems
• build emotional resilience
• improve attention and concentration
• feel more at home in their bodies

We also know that when parents and carers feel calmer, children do too. That’s why this course invites shared practice, without pressure or expectations. 🧘

Yoga is not a replacement for professional care. It works best alongside support from psychologists, GPs, and other health professionals when needed.

This is a slow, supportive approach.
Learn at your own pace. Practise at home. Join in together or separately.

This course is trauma informed and neuroaffirming 🧡. It appeals to all age groups very intentionally.
