🚨 National Fentanyl Awareness Day – April 29, 2026 🚨
Tomorrow is National Fentanyl Awareness Day.
Here in Chatham-Kent, we are seeing just how unpredictable the unregulated drug supply has become. The reality is heartbreaking—most people harmed by fentanyl never even knew it was there. It’s often hidden in counterfeit pills and other substances.
This is why awareness matters. This is why we matter.
We are a community that looks out for one another. 🤝💜
Here are 3 simple, life-saving actions you can take:
đź’Š 1. GET EQUIPPED
Carry a FREE Naloxone kit—no prescription needed.
Available at:
• Most local pharmacies (Chatham, Wallaceburg, Tilbury, Dresden)
• CK Public Health (435 Grand Ave W, Chatham)
• ROCK Missions (outreach & drop-in services)

🗣️ 2. TALK TO YOUR PEOPLE
75% of youth overdose deaths involve fentanyl.
Have a real, no-judgment conversation.
Say it clearly: “Don’t use alone.”
If you or someone you know is using, call the
📞 National Overdose Response Service (NORS): 1-888-688-6677
They will stay on the line to help keep you safe.
⚠️ 3. KNOW THE SIGNS
An overdose can look like:
• Blue or grey lips/nails
• Gurgling or snoring sounds
• Unable to wake the person
• Slow or no breathing
đźš‘ If you suspect an overdose, call 911 immediately.
The Good Samaritan Drug Overdose Act protects you from simple possession charges when you call for help.
Every conversation matters.
Every kit matters.
Every life matters.
Let’s keep Chatham-Kent safe—together. 💜
