After supporting a family in birth I 100% crave ramen or soondubu-jjigae EVERY SINGLE TIME.

How often do I get it? Almost never cause it’s usually the middle of the night 🌙

Fact: my kids didn’t have names for weeks 🤷🏻‍♀️

Also Fact: we were inspired by one of our fav directors names for our son and our daughter’s name was put on the list after meeting someone by her name on our worldly travels.

Fact about me, I LOVE the nighttime.
I have always enjoyed being up and out when it feels like the rest of the world is asleep….

It is when I feel most present and grounded as a Doula too….which is convenient cause LOTS of babies come in the middle of the night.

You may have heard from some that postpartum “lasts 6 weeks.”

Nope. Not true.
Postpartum has no timeline. It’s a season of constant adjustments, of healing, and growth that unfolds differently for everyone.

So, maybe your provider will clear you at 6 weeks, but your body, your mind and your spirit are still adapting well beyond that.

Physical healing can take months…which is normal and expected.

Emotions continue to ebb and flow well beyond the newborn stage.

Parenting is forever.

Postpartum isn’t something you rush through. If you are months, or years past the birth of your baby and still finding your rhythm, you are not behind.

Rest is preparation. It builds resilience.
Taking time to pause and restore is a powerful and important part of preparing for your birth and postpartum.

Fear is often louder than our intuition.

When we understand the process of birth, when we feel supported, it can allow our fear to soften.

This process happens over time with work, with education and trust.

Investing in support, and creating that trust before entering into your birth space can help to break down fear and allow it to soften gradually over time so that your intuition can take up space too ❤️
