Day in the life of a chiropractor — Sunday edition 🗂️🩺

Sundays start early in the clinic — and for good reason.
Before the first patient arrives, I spend time preparing so each visit is focused, efficient, and personalized.

Here’s what that prep looks like:
📋 Reviewing patient files
📝 Completing doctor notes
🩻 Ordering imaging when needed (like X-rays)
🧘‍♂️ Planning stretches and lifestyle modifications to support recovery

I aim to arrive at least 30 minutes before my shift and finish about 30 minutes after the last patient. That time allows for proper wrap-up, team communication, and making sure every patient’s care plan is clear moving forward.

Good outcomes start with good preparation.

Protect your knees on the recumbent bike 🚴‍♂️🦵

Quick gym tip from today’s workout 👇
When using the recumbent bike, make sure your seat isn’t set so far back that your knee fully locks out at the end of the pedal stroke.

🔑 The key:
✔️ Keep at least 10° of bend in your knee
✔️ Avoid hyperextension and locking
✔️ Protect the knee’s natural locking pattern (called the screw-home mechanism)

Fully locking the knee over and over can increase stress and raise the risk of irritation or injury. A small bend goes a long way in keeping your knees healthy while cycling.

Gym tip to protect your knees 🚴‍♂️🦵

If you’re using a stationary bike, here’s a simple adjustment that can help prevent knee injury 👇

When your leg is at the bottom of the pedal stroke, avoid fully locking your knee.
That last 5–10 degrees of straightening is a natural locking mechanism in the knee — and repeatedly locking it can increase stress and risk of injury.

✅ Set your bike seat so there’s always a slight bend in your knee at full extension (about 10° or more).
Your knees will thank you — especially if you bike often.

Knee pain changed my life — and my career. 🦵✨

When I was a teenager, I struggled with constant knee pain — especially under the kneecap. Every fall on the ice playing hockey, every soccer game at school… the pain just kept coming back.

After multiple doctor visits, my parents finally took me to a chiropractor. He examined my knees, took X-rays, found the real problem, and started treating the underlying issue — not just the symptoms.

Within 2–3 months, my knees were completely healed.
And in that moment, I knew: this is what I want to do.

This morning’s yoga routine is one I regularly recommend to patients—simple, effective, and easy to do at home.

I start with a forward fold, which gently stretches the low back and helps release tension from sitting, stress, and daily activity. From there, I move into a cobra-style extension, opening the front of the body and reducing stiffness through the spine.

Next are upper-back and chest openers, done one side at a time. These are excellent for posture, breathing, and restoring movement through the upper spine—especially if you spend long hours at a desk or driving.

I always finish with a few moments of quiet reflection. That pause matters. It reinforces the mind–body connection and helps calm the nervous system, which plays a major role in pain, recovery, and overall health.
