Is Numbness & Tingling a Bad Sign?
If you’re feeling numbness or tingling in your arm, hand, leg, or foot — don’t ignore it.
That sensation usually means a nerve is irritated or compressed somewhere along its path.
• Tingling down the arm into the fingers? It may be coming from the neck where the brachial nerve roots exit.
• Tingling down the leg into the toes? The issue may be in the lower back where the sciatic nerve originates.
The important thing to understand:
The symptoms show up far from the source.
Many people try to treat the hand, the foot, or the painful spot — but the real issue is often at the spine.
When the original cause is properly assessed and corrected, the numbness and tingling typically resolve.
Don’t wait until it turns into weakness or more serious nerve irritation.
