For 44 years, the Central Okanagan Hospice Association (COHA) has had the profound honour of walking alongside individuals and families through some of life’s most tender moments.

Since 1982, our community has trusted us to provide barrier-free, compassionate palliative and end-of-life support, as well as grief and bereavement services for those who need them. Every conversation, every visit, every shared moment of care is made possible by the generosity of our donors, our community partners, our members, our staff and Board of Directors, and the dedication of our past and present volunteers.

It is truly a privilege to serve the Central Okanagan community.

As we mark 44 years, we reflect with gratitude on the lives we have touched — and will remain a pillar of support for our community.

We’re thrilled to announce that Swinging with the Stars, presented by Unison Jane Hoffman Realty, is stepping back into the spotlight!

This beloved community celebration returns on February 27, 2027, raising funds to ensure access to the Central Okanagan Hospice Association’s compassionate, palliative care and bereavement services without barriers.

Local celebrity dancers will once again partner with professional instructors — training for months, fundraising with heart, and lighting up the ballroom for one unforgettable night.

Family can mean many things — those we’re born into, those we choose, and those who walk beside us through life’s most tender moments. We see every day how love, compassion, and kindness are what truly define a family.

We also know that Family Day can carry the weight of loss. If someone you love is no longer here, please know you are not alone. Grief is a reflection of love — and there is space today for remembrance, for quiet reflection, and for hope alongside heartache.

On Monday, February 16, the COHA August Centre will be closed in observance of Family Day, and will reopen on Tuesday, February 17 at 8am.

However you define family, we hope this day offers space to connect, reflect, and hold close the people who matter most.
