So proud of one of the best ever, one of my fav people and teammates of all time (Go Bucks ! ) , and so excited for now my daughter to join thousands of girls who look up to you at your 4th Olympics! 🥹🙌❤️ 🇨🇦

From injured reserve to fully rostered 🥹

Natalie Spooner tore her ACL during the 2024 PWHL playoffs and worked her way back to make another Olympic roster with the Canadian women’s national hockey team 🇨🇦

The last several months I have so enjoyed dusting off my French (one of my minors at THE Ohio State 😝) and working with this group to make and prepare for their very FIRST Olympics in history! Even more special in championing one of my former players, goalies, and really my first kid before my kids .kowalchuk and !! SO proud of you !! Et BONNE CHANCE ! 🇫🇷🏒🙌

Full circle moment and exactly why I love this game and the people in it!

One of our fav hockey friends and I took my daughter and one of her best hockey friends down to Vancouver for their very FIRST PWHL game 🙌
- I first met head coach when I was just a few years older than our girls at a camp 🇺🇸
- coached with .myles at ,
- and had the privilege of coaching some of these girls along the way including at (POE)
- big Shoutout to who also went on to become fellow Ohio State Buckeye & representing 🇨🇦

Now, in an Olympic year, we get to cheer them on as they head to Italy representing Team Canada. Seeing it all through the eyes of two young hockey girls reminded me how powerful this sport really is. How how seriously great the tunes were and belting out singing of 16,000 people of Don’t Stop Believin’ 🤣🔥

So excited for what’s to come! See you in March Vancouver! With Toronto & my big spoon 🇨🇦🫶🏼

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Alive Counselling! 🤍
As a therapist & mom of 4 kids, I have a hard time doing resolutions (ain’t nobody got time for that 🤣) so I do a WORD of the Year instead. One thing. One word. One intention to help guide and anchor my decisions and leading throughout the year.
My 2025 Word of the Year was Congruent, living aligned where our values and actions matched. Reflecting on these moments reminds us how that word shaped decisions, relationships, and direction throughout the year.

As you step into 2026, we invite you to try this reflection practice and consider choosing a Word of the Year to guide you with intention rather than pressure.

As we say goodbye to 2025 and welcome a new year, we’re taking time at Alive Counselling to pause and reflect with gratitude.

One simple practice we love is writing down a short list of highlights from the year. Big moments and quiet ones alike.

For us, that looked like moments such as:
• Speaking at the Global Congress of Sport at Baylor University in Texas
• Hosting the NHL Open Ice Mental Health panel with &
• Being honoured again with Best of Kelowna awards with this incredible team!
• Welcoming new therapists and celebrating new babies in our Alive team
• Serving a community we deeply love
• Walking alongside countless hockey teams and families
• Supporting athletes preparing for the Olympics and PWHL seasons
• And so many moments in between

As we step into a new year, I am reflecting on 2025 with gratitude and intention.

Instead of a New Year’s resolution, I chose a Word of the Year. My word for 2025 is Congruent, meaning living aligned with our values, actions, and purpose.

This word shaped many of my decisions over the past year and continues to guide how I show up as a counsellor, leader, and parent.
