Once Dr.Hallgrimson determines that a patient is showing the physical clinical signs of an upper cervical segmental problem:

It is then necessary to develop an accurate biomechanical assessment of the head and neck utilizing three specific cervical x-ray views. These unique images are taken in the office by Dr. Hallgrimson utilizing the latest in modern specialized digital equipment. Treatment is a carefully directed light touch (based on factors derived off the patient x-rays) delivered to the patients upper neck. The patient must be placed in appropriate neutral side lying posture for the light touch to be effective.
Following the first treatment additional x-rays analysis determines the effectiveness of the correction. This will also assist Dr. Hallgrimson in making any necessary treatment modifications to enhance reducing the misalignment. Periodic x-ray reevaluation is necessary every few years to monitor improvement, or, if a patient is reinjured.
As the upper cervical misalignment is normalized or reduced the patient’s objective physical signs will improve and normalize. This will eliminate the ‘functional short leg syndrome’ created by the cranio-cervical junction disorder. An elimination or reduction in pain caused by the musculoskeletal imbalance should be the result of care.
Lastly a NUCCA adjustment is very safe, precise, and an effective treatment that does not use twisting, cracking, or high force to realign the spine and improve body function.
