Updated Plans and Procedures Regarding COVID-19
With the re-opening of Katherine Massage Therapy, a new plan and refined procedures will be implemented. These are new measures to minimize the risk of viral transmission. With the nature of massage and its proximity, massage has some risk of COVID-19 transmission. This protocol is set in place to reduce the risk; however, the risk cannot be reduced to zero.
Before Arriving for Appointment:
•Conform that you have not travelled outside British Columbia in the previous 14 days.
•Complete the BC COVID-19 Symptom Self-Assessment.
-Any of the following: fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, loss of sense of smell.
-If you have any of these symptoms and have not been tested, you’re encouraged to call 8-1-1.
Arriving to the Appointment:
•The symptom self-assessment will be done again.
•Your appointment will be cancelled or postponed if you do not meet the pre-screening criteria.
•Physical distancing will be established between you and the RMT to the best of abilities within the practice setting.
•You are encouraged to come unaccompanied for the treatment.
•I ask that you wait in your car until I come to retrieve you for your appointment. If this is not possible, alternatives can be discussed.
•I also ask that when you arrive and during the duration of your stay, you allow me to open and close the doors for you.
•When you arrive and when you leave, I will direct you to the washroom to wash your hands.
•To the best of your abilities, avoid touching your face, as this is a way to spread the virus.
Cleaning Procedures:
•Cleaning and disinfecting will be performed between each client.
•Blankets and thermophore (heat pad) will not be used during this time.
Masks and Protective Gear:
•Disposable masks are not required but available for both you and the RMT if requested, also gloves will be available upon request.
•If a mask is used, wash hands with soap and water before putting on and before taking off a mask.
Payments: E-transfers are highly encouraged, and receipts will be emailed unless otherwise requested.
Cancellation Policy: This policy is currently not enforced; however, if you must cancel, please give as much notice as possible.
