On world diabetes day, Hager Orthopaedics strives to create awareness of the impact diabetes has on individuals and their families. Prosthetic and orthotic care is focused on the needs of the individual, what matters most to them, and how they can mobilize and function optimally while living with diabetes.

➡️30% of Canadians live with diabetes or pre-diabetes.
➡️15-20% of those with diabetes will have a diabetic foot ulcer in their lifetime
➡️85% of amputations in people with diabetes are preceded by a diabetic foot ulcer

Friday was a day of celebration at Hager Orthopaedic as we hosted a community BBQ in commemoration of National Orthotics and Prosthetics Day. Donations totalling $183.25 were collected for The War Amps and we are thrilled to contribute to their organization in this meaningful way. We are grateful for the community's support and enthusiasm for this esteemed profession that enhances mobility and quality of life for numerous individuals.
