Filler to “lift”

We often here that filler in certain areas will give a lifted appearance. However fillers simply provide volume, so why does one side appear higher than the other?

Minimalism…. Mid face treatment to address lower face concerns.

As we age and lose mid face volume we notice skin laxity and aging in the lower face pre-jowl and perioral regions. By addressing the volume loss mid face we can rebalance the face, lessen the appearance of folds in the sulcus and soften the heaviness in the nasolabial region.

Refresh with global dermal filler treatment.

As we age and loose volume in the mid face (due to decreases in our natural fat pads, bony resorption, loss of collagen and elasticity) the tissue tends to fall and invert the triangle of youth. By treating globally (full face) we can reverse the inverted triangle and lower face heaviness, all while keeping results looking natural.

Lower face rejuvenation.

This beauty wanted to address some perioral lines and the nasolabial folds without looking puffy or unatural.
Addressing only the NLF with filler can create a heavy / full or unatural appearance to the lower face. So instead we treated multiple areas with both filler and dysport over 2 appointments for the most natural and refreshed look.

Clients often come in wanting to treat the nasolabial folds (smile lines), however treatment of this area often involves treating other areas of the face first.

Why? Because the NLF is a symptom of midface volume loss, not a cause of itself.

By just treating the NLF without addressing the root cause of the fold we can sometimes add to much volume to the lower face creating an unatural or ape like appearance.

Instead we treated the volume loss (in this case the cheeks and pyriform aperture) which decreased the shadowing of the fold and restored a youthful structure to the face.
