What a weekend for the Leacock Retirement Lodge team!

You may have spotted them at the Spring Home and Cottage Show, where they’ve been enjoying the opportunity to meet new faces, share stories, and connect with community members in meaningful ways.

That same spirit of connection carried into Saturday evening, when they attended the Business Excellence Awards Gala and were honoured with the Community Impact and Humanitarian Award!

This recognition reflects the entire Leacock team. The people who show up each day with care, compassion, and a genuine commitment to making a difference, both within the Lodge and throughout the community.

A heartfelt thank you to student Emitt for helping bring the new Woodworking Club to life, and to for the generous donation of wood to get us started.

With National Volunteer Week fast approaching, our Retirement Lodges are taking time to recognize an integral part of our communities… our incredible volunteers!

At Leacock Retirement Lodge, residents and staff had a wonderful time celebrating at this year’s Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon, which included a delicious meal, a special slideshow, and a spectacular magic show by .

For Paul and Diane, the move to Roberta Place Retirement Lodge wasn’t something they were pushed into. It was something they chose, on their own terms, and at the right time for them.

Three months in, they’ll tell you it was a process. There were questions, a bit of uncertainty, and the natural adjustment that comes with any big change. But what they’ve found is something that feels far more familiar than they expected.

They’re still driving. Still independent. Still living life the way they always have.

What’s changed is how supported it all feels, and the peace of mind that comes with knowing their family doesn’t have to carry that “what if” in the background.

Creativity was in full bloom at The Villa Retirement Lodge!

Residents at The Villa recently enjoyed a peaceful pot painting workshop, complete with relaxing music and plenty of room to let creativity flow.

What an event!

The Leacock Retirement Lodge Talent Show was a resounding success, and it’s all thanks to the amazing residents and staff who took part. The sense of community and celebration could be felt in every moment, and we are so grateful to everyone who helped plan, perform, support, and cheer each other on.

We like to think there is a comfort that comes from knowing someone is truly paying attention.

At The Villa Retirement Lodge (and all eight of our Retirement Lodges across Ontario), it’s found in the little things. Anticipating a need before it is spoken, offering reassurance when it matters most, and showing up with care that feels both personal and consistent.
