What can you expect from our Blossom Dietitians?✨📣🩷

💛 Building a peaceful relationship with food
Supporting clients in reducing shame, healing from diet culture, and learning to trust their bodies—without food rules or weight-based goals.

💛 Expanding access, not restriction
Creating nutrition strategies that honour culture, budget, energy levels, and sensory needs. No judgment. No moralizing food.

💛 Supporting neurodivergent eating patterns
Helping with meal structure that works for your brain—like low-spoon meal ideas, routine-building tools, sensory-friendly foods, and reducing burnout around feeding yourself.

💛 Honouring lived experiences + identities
Understanding how racism, ableism, fatphobia, poverty, trauma, and colonialism influence eating and health—and working to name them, and reduce those burdens where possible. We also aim to reduce the power dynamic and work alongside with you rather than seeing ourselves as the experts

💛 Rebuilding body trust
Focusing on internal cues (hunger, fullness, energy, satisfaction) rather than external rules. Strengthening connection to your needs—not a number on a scale.

💛 Accessible, compassionate care
Meeting clients where they’re at. Celebrating small wins. Supporting harm reduction. Making nourishment feel doable, not overwhelming.

We can guarantee some laughs along the way too ✨🩷

Affirmations for Resting Without Guilt

-Rest is resistance to oppressive systems.
-Our bodies and minds NEED rest.
-My worth is not determined by how productive I am.
-Resting is the only way to recover from burnout.
-Resting allows me to have the energy to engage with life in a meaningful way.
-When I choose to rest, I am role modelling this form of self-care to others.
-Rest shouldn’t be a privilege.
-The guilt I feel when I rest is not mine to hold. I will rest anyway.

Welcome to the new therapist joining our team! 📣🌿

Rae is a white, cisgender q***r woman with lived experience of various eating disorders. Rae utilizes an integrative approach that incorporates various psychodynamic, humanistic, and cognitive-behavioural approaches, such as Internal Family Systems, ACT, and attachment theory. Her practice is strength-based, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and is grounded in Health at Every Size (HAES) principles. Rae has a particular interest in working with those who struggle with disordered eating, anti-fat bias, body shame, anxiety, stress-management, and depression. Rae is passionate about being gender and sexuality affirming and weight inclusive; her ultimate goal as a therapist is to help clients achieve a sense of peace and safety in their bodies, minds, and relationships.

Outside of work, Rae can often be found on long walks listening to podcasts or audiobooks, playing on her Switch, playing board games with friends, or watching some of her beloved TV shows like Supernatural.

Wishing you a restful and joyous holiday season AND sometimes this time of year is challenging in different ways. You can feel however you feel about this season! 📣🌿

You never have to feel guilty for enjoying the foods you love or for your body changing. Yes, people will make moralizing comments on food and bodies at this time of year AND it's ok to change the subject, walk away or even challenge these conversations, if you feel up to it.

Your body is worthy of rest and care AND it is not a project to be commented on or “fixed”. Given circumstances, we can try and practice neutrality or even positivity towards our bodies and focus on what we like and care about instead, outside of our bodies. It's ok to tend to the hurt, anger or anxiety that comes up with fatphobia being a rampant problem.

Boundaries allow us to keep connection, while protecting our personal safety simultaneously. You are allowed to set boundaries that work for you and this doesn't make you unkind or selfish. It means you are self-aware and you know what you have to give and what you need to protect.

No one is entitled to your time or energy. Spend time with those who fill your cup!

Any other reminders? Leave them in the comments 🌿📣

Life as an ADHDer would be so much easier if we weren't stuck in this capitalist grind. A system that values productivity over wellbeing and competition over community makes everything more challenging.

Imagine thriving in a world that actually cared about our unique brains and needs instead of oppressing us with impossible demands.

We deserve that world, and as clinicians, we will continue pushing for change that brings us closer to this vision. 🌿
