We are beyond thrilled to announce that Erin Polatynski has joined our team as a Registered Massage Therapist 😊

Erin has recently moved back to Ottawa after spending 15 years practicing in British Columbia.

Erin has a special interest in treating headaches and whiplash-related injuries and supporting clients through postoperative recovery. She uses a variety of techniques tailored to each client’s needs, including deep tissue therapy, trigger point release, passive stretching, and Swedish massage.

She will be joining us at Movement Union during the following times:

Wednesday's 1:00 - 6:00
Thursdays 10:00 - 5:00

Food for thought from Susan Alsembach - Understanding Nutrition👇🏽

Yesterday, a client told me she eats most of her lunches in front of her computer — “It’s the only way to keep up,” she said.

That got me thinking…

So many of us chase efficiency: back-to-back meetings, fast meals, and constant motion. Yet, inside our bodies, this kind of efficiency actually creates the opposite.

When we rush, we trigger internal stress and digestive inefficiency. Over time, this shows up as:

Low energy

Bloating and gas

Digestive discomfort

The result? Slower productivity, irritability, and that mid-afternoon crash so many people blame on “just being busy.”

In my practice, I see this all the time. We forget that efficiency isn’t only external — it’s internal too.

You don’t need an hour to eat mindfully. Even 10 quiet minutes with your sandwich, salad, or smoothie can make a difference.

Those few minutes support digestion, boost nutrient absorption, and restore calm.
Maybe it’s time to rethink what it means to be “efficient.”

• Relieve Stress: Foster relaxation with gentle, flowing movements and mindful breathing.

• Boost Circulation: Gentle movement helps improve blood flow to muscles and joints.

Suitable for all levels, this class acknowledges the risks associated with exercise programs. Participants assume their own risk and are advised to move with care.
