You know that pre-sneeze panic?

The subtle leg cross.

The quick scan for the nearest bathroom.
The “I just don’t do trampolines anymore” era.

It’s common.
But it’s not normal.

Pelvic floor physiotherapy isn’t just for postpartum moms.
We help women, teens, and kids with bladder, bowel, and pelvic concerns every day.

And no — leaking when you laugh isn’t your “new personality trait.”

Questions we often get asked before someone decides to book their first appointment are:

❓Isn’t leaking after kids just normal?”
It’s common — but it’s treatable.

❓“Is pelvic floor physio awkward?”
It’s actually very educational, comfortable, and always done at your pace. Internal exams are never required.

❓“Do I need a doctor’s referral?”
No referral needed to see a pelvic floor physiotherapist.

❓“Is this only for postpartum women?”
Not at all. We see teens, athletes, women, and kids with pelvic floor concerns.

❓“Will I just be told to do Kegels?”
Definitely not. Many pelvic floor problems actually require relaxation, coordination, and strength, not just tightening.

💙The bottom line:
You don’t have to “just live with it.”

😣Turns out “weekend warrior” has consequences after 40.
🙌🏻Good news: you can absolutely stay active.
You just need to respect recovery.

Can you relate?

💙Non-negotiables:
• Warm up before
• Strength train consistently
• Don’t build intensity too fast
• Do active stretching and mobility for those tight areas
• Prioritize sleep
• Listen to your body

Consistency keeps you active. Ego gets you injured

More isn’t always better, especially in rehab.
Research suggests that 2–3 quality physio strength sessions per week can lead to similar outcomes as higher frequencies, with better adherence and recovery.
The goal isn’t doing more.
It’s doing what you can consistently and well.
❔❓Were you told to do your exercises every day? 👇
❓❔Does this surprise you? Yes / No

In winter conditions:
💙Muscle power drops
💙Tendons become stiffer
💙Injury risk rises without proper warm-up

🔥 Warm-ups need to be longer and more progressive in the cold.

Have you noticed ppl wearing k-tape on their face lately? 👀 🥶
Skiers and outdoor athletes are starting to use kinesiology tape on their faces to help with cold, wind, and frostbite risk.
Yep... face tape.

The practice became more visible at events like the Winter Olympics, where skiers used brands like KT Tape off-label (i.e., not officially designed for facial protection) in freezing weather.
Physios have used K-tape for years because it:
• gives sensory feedback
• reduces irritation from wind + friction
• helps the skin tolerate stress (including cold)
In really cold conditions, taping areas like the nose or cheeks can help reduce wind exposure and improve comfort (but it's not magic and it doesn't replace proper cold-weather gear).
Have you noticed this trend?
Would you try it?

Joint pain during perimenopause isn’t “just getting older.”
A new JBJS meta-analysis of 93,000 women confirms a significantly higher risk of muscle and joint pain during the menopausal transition — and highlights how under-recognized these symptoms still are.
💙Validation is the first step toward better care💙
