The needs of Nunavummiut guide every step of OHSNI’s work, connecting patients to the care they require and supporting them throughout their health journey. This is something we cannot achieve alone. Everyone in Canada deserves access to high-quality medical care — a goal that depends on collaboration across the health system. In Nunavut, residents often travel thousands of kilometres for treatments, which is why we work to ensure these journeys are as stress-free and efficient as possible.

As we begin a new year, we’re taking a moment to share more about our work at OHSNI. For over 20 years, OHSNI has helped connect Nunavummiut with southern practitioners to access vital, life-enhancing care.

As we look ahead in 2026, collaboration and trust remain at the heart of our work to support equitable, culturally informed access to specialized health services.
