I know it's a bit early to announce this, but I'm just too excited!

This is an educational series geared towards informing allied health professionals about:

• the current climate crisis and its impacts on all of us
• ways of managing the related eco-emotions as practitioners and for clients
• what an eco-conscious and anti-oppressive framework of practice can look like and
• how to enact change in personal and professional practice with self and clients.

We will be incorporating arts and nature based practices for hands on, embodied learning ♥️

April is Earth month! ❤️ 💙 💜
Every month is *technically* Earth month, because we love the Earth, right?

But for the month of April, I'm inviting you to get creative and in touch with Nature/ the more-than-human world.

A couple times a week I'll be sharing some prompts for you to engage with for the rest of April. Keep in mind that these invitations are for you to explore at your own pace, and hopefully grow a deeper connection to the Earth.

This Earth month I urge you to reflect on the importance and significance of Nature & our shared responsibility for caretaking, protecting, and conserving Nature.

My work with nature therapy is rooted in existentialism and a great love, and affinity for, the more-than-human world.

I believe there has to be some level of stewardship and care for the natural world to engage with this work. & especially as an art therapist! There has to be an eco-consciousness and a recognition of the interconnected web of life...

March 15th-21st is Creative Arts Therapies Week & I am so beyond grateful for being able to be a part of this wonderful and innovative profession.

Creative Arts Therapies show up in different ways, the work I do is specifically Art Therapy, with some fun niches focusing on the use of video games, anime, and other media (typically labelled "Nerd" or "Geek" culture).

I have found the inclusion of Geek and Nerd materials to be incredibly helpful for body image & self esteem, relationships, gaining confidence and developing self-compassion and acceptance.

Shout-out to my favorite Animal Crossing villager Apple for making it into this post! She's a body image queen 👸 ❤️
