I wish I had taken better pictures of my skin during the depths of my acne journey, but as I’m sure so many of you can relate to the LAST thing I wanted was to document what I felt was an embarrassing part of myself.
I started where so many others do- with topical treatments (even a round of topical antibiotics, I cringe thinking back on it) and the birth control pill.
This only caused more issues, especially when I transitioned off the pill cold turkey. I ended up with even more breakouts, loosing my period for a year and chronic bloating.
After struggling for too long, trying every topical treatment, diet, workout routine, etc. I finally got clarity through functional testing and in-depth symptom assessment.
After having some testing done I found out my s*x hormones were SO out of rhythm and I had a Candida infection in my gut.
🔬If I had to do it all over again I would go right to the source through functional testing. GI Map is my personal fav with clients.
I’d also start supporting my liver with foods and herbs like dandelion, milk thistle, broccoli sprouts and radish
🧠 lastly I’d start supporting my nervous system through EFT tapping, breath work, proper sleep and time in nature
