Cervical screening changes. Quebec and Ontario

PAP tests will be replaced with HPV tests.

Some key points from this interview:

1. The sensitivity* of HPV tests is higher than the sensitivity of PAP tests. Because of that they will be done every 5 years instead of every 3 years

2. HPV test procedure is similar to a PAP test

3. Home kits for self tests may be offered in the future

4. Screening will start at age 25

* Sensitivity: the ability of a test to correctly identify patients with a condition

An OB-GYN explains why HPV tests are more beneficial than pap smears and why people should be getting them when they’re of age.

Endometriosis awareness!

“French President Emmanuel Macron made endometriosis a legally recognized chronic illness in January, which boosted services for millions of women living with the painful and debilitating disease.

Now a group of doctors and patients representing an estimated one million women with the condition in Canada are advocating for the same recognition and help.”

🙋🏻‍♀️ As of June 1st we are going to start welcoming our clients back at the clinic.

✨We are making sure all procedures and guidelines from our College and Ministry of Health are in place in order to keep staff and clients safe.

✨Things will look different, but we are definitely happy to see you again!

✨During this quarantine the virtual appointments have been a success, they have shown to be a great way of helping our clients when we couldn't see them in person.

✨We are going to continue offering virtual appointments as we slowly return to seeing more clients in person. So either way, we are here to help.
