Libra Senior Care Expert Advice. Effective Advocacy. Exceptional Care. An experienced team of geriatric professional that leads stressed-out families from chaos to calm.

We're a team of experienced health care professionals and caregivers, trusted by families to care for their aging parents and loved ones. To us, caregiving isn’t about completing a checklist of tasks – it's about the partnerships we enter into with our clients, their families and the other health care professionals who care for them. It’s a commitment to do everything we can to maintain our clients’ health and improve their quality of life. We are experts in the area of complex senior care, working with clients who have multiple medical conditions and complications from dementia and mental illness. We understand an increasingly complicated medical system and know how to access the best resources and services the system offers. We are proud to be referred by health care professionals, community support agencies and most importantly, the families and clients for whom we care.

Isn't it great that it falls on the weekend? What are you doing to celebrate? - Lisa

Your opinion matters!
The Ministry of Health and Long Term Care is looking for feedback for its Dementia Strategy, to be released in 2017. I was invited to attend a stakeholder round-table with provincial officials in the Spring and their enthusiasm for this project was very encouraging.

If you are a family caregiver or work with individuals who have dementia, your insights are very important. There's great background information, as well as instructions on how to participate in the online survey or how to send comments by email at https://www.ontario.ca/page/dementia-strategy-consultation.

Share your feedback, experiences and ideas to help us develop a dementia strategy for Ontario. Your feedback will be considered by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care to inform a new strategy that ensures people living with dementia and their care partners have the information and supports the...

We had the honour of attending a luncheon on the weekend to celebrate the life of a longtime client who had passed away two weeks ago. This "feast" is part of Hindu tradition and generally follows the funeral by 12 or 13 days. So wonderful to see how the family had begun the healing process and to be part of a very special cultural tradition. - Lisa

This is a great first step forward. We've known for years that seniors are healthier and happier in their own homes, not in hospital or long term care beds.
