There are many faces of ADHD - some people appear to be daydreaming, others struggle with social interactions, some are VERY emotionally impulsive, some are hyperactive, others are easily distracted, and still others struggle with remembering things. It is impossible to list all presentations, but at the core are the symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity that are affecting daily function. This means it is crucial to monitor for the functional impacts of ADHD symptoms throughout life. ADHD presents differently in girls and boys, men, and women. Interestingly many more boys are diagnosed with ADHD than girls in childhood. However, by adulthood, the number is nearly equal.
