A new year often brings big questions:
What do I want next?
Why do I feel stuck?
How can I better understand myself?
Do I need a psychoeducational assessment to do better in school?

Sometimes, the first step towards change is clarity.

Our psychological services and psychometric assessments can help you better understand your thoughts, emotions and behaviours - so you can make decisions that align with who you are and where you want to go.

Whether you're navigating stress, career uncertainty or personal growth, gaining insight into your patterns can be the foundation for meaningful change.

You don't have to figure it out alone. Let's start by understanding you: https://heyor.ca/Yrtwhg

Instead of asking, "What do I want to achieve this year?" try asking, "What do I want to nurture this year?"

What relationships, habits or feelings are worth tending to?
Growth isn't about reinventing yourself, it's about watering what's already within.

🌱 Start there. And if you need help finding where to start, we're here: https://heyor.ca/6Nbmjw

Teamwork makes support stronger 💙

On Day, our Youth Mental Health Walk-in Clinic team dropped by Jewish Family Services of Ottawa to chat about collaboration, connection, and how we can better serve youth together.

Thanks for having us, JFS! 🙌

Change isn't always dramatic, sometimes it's quiet; an inner shift that no one else can see yet.

You might not have everything figured out right now.
That's okay. Growth takes time and clarity comes in pieces.

The goal isn't to control what's changing, it's to stay kind to yourself while it does.

If being kind to yourself feels hard right now, we're here to listen: https://heyor.ca/6Nbmjw

Resolutions tell us what to do, intentions remind us how we want to feel.

You can keep your goals, but try pairing them with gentler intentions:

"I want to exercise more" ➡️ "I want to feel strong in my body"
"I want to save money" ➡️ "I want to feel more secure and steady"
"I want to be more productive" ➡️ "I want to feel more focused and fulfilled"

Intentions turn self-improvement into self-connection.

Let's turns your resolutions into intentions together: https://heyor.ca/6Nbmjw

Big goals don't require big leaps; they require consistency.

Research shows that change sticks when we start small: one new habit, one new boundary, one small promise kept to ourselves.

Your brain learns through repetition, not perfection.
Every little step you take wires in confidence, resilience and self-trust.

Progress isn't about speed, it's about direction.

Need help mapping those small steps? Let's talk: https://heyor.ca/6Nbmjw

Every January, we're told it's time to "start fresh."
To set goals, make changes and become new.

But maybe this year, you don't need a new you.
Maybe you just need more you.

More compassion, more presence and more moments that feel like peace.

You don't have to transform everything to move forward - you just have to keep showing up.

If you need help finding out how to show up for yourself, we can help: https://heyor.ca/6Nbmjw

As 2025 comes to a close, it's tempting to rush into resolutions or focus on what didn't get done.

Pause instead.
Take a moment to notice how far you've come.
The small wins. The quiet growth. The resilience it took to just keep going.

You've made it through another year of learning, changing and showing up, and that deserves to be acknowledged.

We're here for you in 2026: https://heyor.ca/6Nbmjw

The days after the holidays can bring a mix of emotions... relief, fatigue and maybe even regret.

It's easy to get caught up in the sales, the noise, the "buy now" messages everywhere you look. But it's okay to pause, it's okay to not buy anything today.

Spending isn't just about money, it's often about emotion.

We spend to comfort ourselves, to feel in control, to chase that spark of joy, but real comfort comes from slowing down and checking in with what we truly need.

Take a breath before you tap "checkout" and ask yourself, "Will this make me feel cared for, or just distracted?"

You deserve balance, not pressure, to start the year ahead: https://heyor.ca/6Nbmjw

December often asks us to move faster; finish the projects, wrap the gifts and make it all look perfect.

But what if you slowed down instead?
What if peace is found in doing less?

This season, make space for calm.
The world doesn't need a more productive version of you - it needs a more present one.

We can help you get there: https://heyor.ca/6Nbmjw

For many, this season brings connection and celebration. For others, it can stir up loneliness, stress or grief.

If this time of year feels heavier than it looks on TV, that's okay. You don't have to focus on cheerfulness or hide how you feel.

Give yourself permission to slow down and care for your mental health in ways that feel right for you: https://heyor.ca/6Nbmjw

Family gatherings can be meaningful, but they can also bring tension, old patterns and emotional exhaustion.

It's okay to set boundaries.
It's okay to leave early.
It's okay to protect your energy.

You can love your family and care for your mental health at the same time; both can be true, and both are valid.

If you're struggling during this season of gatherings, we have an open door: https://heyor.ca/6Nbmjw

About The Counselling Group

The Counselling Group

Our trained and experienced counsellors at The Counselling Group (TCG) provide a full range of counselling and support services for children, adolescents, and adults. We offer individual, couple, family, and group counselling tailored to support you in identifying and reaching your achievable goals.

Counselling sessions are scheduled appointments. They occur in a private and confidential setting. Services may include crisis intervention, information and referrals, and therapies of varying duration. Often counselling is a process through which you can explore the challenges that you are experiencing, gain a better understanding of yourself, your relationships and your life, and work towards making the changes that are most important to you.
