Exploring what is now called Pigeon Lake and River in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario with a 7 km paddle. It was beautiful and is the traditional lands of the Anishinabewaki ᐊᓂᔑᓈᐯᐗᑭ (Anishinaabeg) First Nations of Turtle Island. Other First Nations such as the Haudenosaunee, Wendake-Nionwentsïo, and Mississaug also have connections to this land.
Happy Canada Day! I encourage you to take a moment today to learn and celebrate the richness of Indigenous cultures that inhabit the lands we share.

Races 3, 2, 1...
I didn't realize my 3rd year of SUP performance class would actually lead to me getting a few races in the bag. But now September is over and I managed to finish 3!
1-2 - my 3rd race was 's 6k where I definitely improved at 50 mins
2-3 - was the 4k at 38 mins for my 2nd race
4-6 - it was a really hot day for my first 5k race which took 52 mins

First race in the bag!
Thanks for the support, coaching, and stellar equipment. Felt prepared, nervous and excited going in. Feeling strong after finishing. Super grateful to have shared today with the awesome Urban Ocean crew and for the friendships that grew from our Wednesday women's race class this summer.
Merci , and for organizing! I was happy to see so many women competing today!

There is no one in this world that has supported me more than my sister, not only personally but professionally. My business would not exist in the capacity it does if it were not for all her help on her days off from her full-time job, especially our SUP Kids camps and classes which began with her as an instructor.

She has supported EVERY community event that Urban Ocean has put on over the years and now I am asking for your help to support the strongest woman I know.

Colleen was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC)-the most aggressive type of breast cancer 2 months ago and began treatment immediately.

This aggressive cancer affects 10-15% of women with Breast Cancer under the age of 40. At the end of December, I learned the devastating diagnosis had metastasized to her bones, and the immunotherapy treatment (Keytruda) she needs, is not covered in Canada or by her insurance benefits. This treatment alone will cost over $100000 this year.

I will do everything possible to make this difficult time easier for her. I have set up a donation link on Urban Ocean's shop site
and will be absorbing the processing fees to ensure Colleen gets 100% of the funds donated. She has done so much for our community, any support you can offer is greatly appreciated.

We've teamed up with the folks at to bring to the east an experience that has brought so much joy to the folks here in Toronto over the summer.

That's right! We're doing stand up paddle boarding (SUP) in Ottawa. And who better to help us get there than the experts?

Where: Almonte Beach
When: Saturday, September 11th
Time: 11:00 A.M. -12:15 P.M.

What do you need to do?
