🦺 Creating a Safety Culture at Home
We often talk about "workplace safety culture," but your home needs one too!
Think of a home safety culture as a family habit - where everyone, from adults to kids, understands how to prevent accidents before they happen.
🏡 How to Build It:
🔹 Talk about safety together. Have quick "safety check-ins" - ask your kids what to do if the smoke alarm goes off or someone gets hurt.
🔹 Keep hazards visible. Store cleaning supplies and medications out of reach, check smoke alarms monthly, and review escape routes.
🔹 Model safe behavior. Children copy what they see - wear gloves when cleaning, use ladders safely, and explain why precautions matter.
🔹 Involve everyone. Let kids help test flashlights, build the first aid kit, or plan emergency contacts.
A safety-minded home helps everyone feel secure and confident - and it teaches lifelong habits of awareness and care.
