This week marks the fifth anniversary of the 2018 Cannabis Act, which legalized nonmedical cannabis in Canada. Cannabis legalization affects public health, safety and well-being. As the only national organization with a legislated mandate to reduce the harms of substances for people in Canada, the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction (CCSA) has been synthesizing evidence, monitoring cost and harms with tools such as CSUCH, and responding to emerging public health needs.
