Today we mark International Transgender Day of Visibility—a day of both celebration and responsibility.

To our trans and gender-diverse members and students: you are valued and you are loved, exactly as you are. You make our schools and communities better and brighter. Thank you for being you!

We also know that trans visibility can come with a mix of joy and empowerment as well as risk and vulnerability. So allies, let’s be courageous in standing up for our trans siblings and their human rights. Let’s listen, learn, and have those hard conversations that challenge transphobia, bias, and exclusion when they show up.
