If you’ve been with us for a while, you know that the office has been home to Rubiks for nearly three years. When we first arrived, we we were only a couple years into private practice and the business world, and finally transitions out of virtual work post-COVID. We came from a community background, filled with excitement, hope, and the belief that meaningful work would happen in this new space— and it did.

Saying goodbye to this space has been emotional and nostalgic. These walls have held stories, healing, growth, and so many moments with all the ranges of emotion. To everyone who has walked through these doors and become part of the Rubiks community — thank you. You’ve left traces of yourselves here, and we carry that forward.

Over the past three years, we’ve learned that spaces truly matter — but we’ve also learned that building something meaningful is hard, rewarding, and absolutely possible. Having a physical space showed us what we’re capable of.

While this chapter is closing, another one is beginning. Rubiks is still growing — in a way that feels natural, grounded, and very exciting. We’ve had many questions about us leaving the office, and we want to reassure you: we’re still here, and more committed than ever to providing the care we’re known for… and so much more.

Here’s to endings, beginnings, and everything they make possible.

Have you gotten a chance to download our Free Relationship Questionnaire?

It’s called:
What’s Guiding Your Relationship Choices?

It’s a short, reflective tool —
designed to help you pause and notice what’s been shaping your love life.

Even when things seem fine on the surface,
patterns can quietly repeat themselves underneath.

Like feeling pulled toward someone unavailable…
Or finding calm strangely uncomfortable…
Or working harder than you should to feel loved.

This guide helps you name those patterns —
so they’re not making your choices for you.

FREE Questionnaire. Gain insights into how your past may be shaping your current relationship choices. Reflection questions provided for your specific pattern type to begin breaking the cycle

We spend a lot of time behind the scenes curating content and making sure it’s actually grounded in something real.

We might know our stuff but we’ve always found it challenging because of the nature of social media’s bite-size, catchy, click bait style content. We get why that’s what spreads but it’s a tricky balance.

When it comes to mental health, that kind of oversimplification can do more harm than good.

Some of the things we’ve seen online have been surprising, comical… and honestly, sometimes really concerning. That’s why we’re intentional about what we share — we want to capture your attention without compromising the quality or integrity of the message.

So here’s your reminder: always ask where the information is coming from, and who is behind it. Just because it’s trending or you can relate doesn’t mean it’s trustworthy.

What’s the most unhinged mental health “advice” or content you’ve seen online? Let us know in the comments!

It’s been a little quiet on here… but a lot has been happening behind the scenes.

One of us got married and moved, and the other had a baby — two beautiful milestones that happened almost at the same time. Life has been shifting, stretching, and reminding us what really matters.

In the middle of all this, we’ve also been quietly revamping Rubiks — not just how we look, but how we show up. Somewhere along the way, things started to feel… a little too polished. A little too “Instagram.”
We want to come back to something more honest, more human. More you and us — and less of what we think we’re “supposed” to post.

We’re still here. And we’re ready to reconnect — with purpose, with care, and with the people who made this community what it is.

More to come soon — and truly, it feels good to be back. 💛

Why do my parents care so much about what people think? What may feel like control or people-pleasing might actually be rooted in something else—especially for parents who grew up in war-affected regions, close-knit communities, or under intense social pressure.

Tradition has a way of grounding us when everything feels uncertain. In times of chaos, it offers a sense of stability, connecting us to our past and the things that truly matter. Whether it’s a coffee with a friend, a holiday gathering, a special meal, or a simple family ritual, these moments remind us that no matter what changes, some things remain constant.

Often, we hear from clients, friends, and family—especially those impacted by the challenges happening in the world—that they feel like their lives are on pause, unable to engage in their usual routines or rituals. But there’s power in keeping traditions alive, especially when there’s a threat to your identity. By holding onto those traditions, you preserve not just customs, but your sense of self and connection to your roots. It’s a form of resistance, a way to maintain your people, your culture, and your history.

Therapy at Rubiks honours that. We don’t ask you to leave your culture at the door. We start there.

Part of navigating our identity is recognizing which ‘shoulds’ are getting in the way of our well-being. This picture takes us back to when we were little, and all the ‘shoulds’ we grew up with. Some served us, and others we had to unlearn or challenge. We (Samiyah and Walaa) often discuss different ‘shoulds’ we notice and work to challenge them together.

Do you relate to any of the ‘shoulds’ mentioned above? Any others you would include?

Share with a friend and try challenging some ‘shoulds’ together!
