55 is coming up in a couple of weeks. As I do every year around this time, I am reflecting on who I used to be. At 44 I was not well. I had put on some extra weight after retiring from the military. I was drinking daily, sometimes a bottle of wine by myself. I was sedentary. I was not setting a good example for my young daughters. Today on the cusp of my 56th year I feel amazing. I like how I look in the mirror. I have a much better relationship with booze. I am trying to be a better role model for my now almost adult daughters, and the fully adult one too. I have to thank all of the people in my life who have supported me these past years. .j.lawley I do this for and because of you. Thank you!!!

This is what happens when I have an emotionally draining week. I don’t medicate with booze anymore. I hang out with different bars now. Back and biceps are done for tonight. Time to refuel the machine. Three weeks to gym.

Today is the second last day of .ca 2026. We only have 350 pushups left and 200 of them are today. It’s a lofty goal but not unreachable. It’s also a day off at the gym so you won’t need to listen to me gripe about doing pushups on chest day. I would like to thank everyone who has supported me this month and especially all of the donations we’ve received to reach our $500 goal. It’s not too late to donate if you choose.
