When a stroke arm feels flaccid, it can be hard to know what to do. But your actions as a caregiver still make a real difference.

Supporting the arm, including it in daily routines, and handling it safely help protect the shoulder and keep the arm connected to recovery. Even when movement is limited, care and attention still matter.

If you are caring for someone after stroke and feel unsure, you do not have to figure it out alone.

Drop a 💚 if you are a caregiver, or send us a message if you want guidance.

Hit a plateau? Don’t panic. This part actually matters 🧠

In rehab, progress doesn’t always show up as big wins. Sometimes it looks like steadier control, better confidence, or your brain quietly locking in new skills behind the scenes.

Plateaus are not a dead end. They’re a pause while your nervous system catches up, adapts, and gets ready for the next jump forward.

If progress feels slow right now, you’re probably still moving in the right direction. Keep going 💚

POV: You go in for a normal greeting…
and realize your patient just used their affected hand 👀

No cue. No reminder. Just movement.
Those quiet moments of progress hit the hardest 😎

This is why we watch the small things.
They usually mean the biggest changes.

Have you noticed a small win lately? Drop it in the comments 👇

Use it or lose it isn’t just a saying. It’s how the brain works after stroke 🧠

Every small movement sends a message to your brain that this limb still matters. Skip it too often, and the brain starts choosing the easier path. Use it consistently, even in small ways, and those pathways stay active and strong.

Recovery isn’t about waiting for perfect movement. It’s about showing up, repeating the basics, and letting the brain do what it does best adapt.

After a stroke, it’s natural to rely on the stronger side but avoiding the affected arm can hold recovery back. 🧠✋

Every time that arm moves, your brain gets a signal to relearn, reconnect, and rebuild control. Even small, supported movements matter. They keep joints healthy, wake up sensation, and build confidence step by step.

Recovery isn’t about forcing big movements. It’s about using what you have, consistently, in the right way. 💚

Curious how we help patients safely use their affected arm again? Send us a message or ask your therapist next session!

Your body doesn’t move on perfect floors in real life 👣

Different surfaces force your ankles, knees, hips, and brain to work together fast. That’s how balance improves. That’s how confidence builds. And that’s how everyday movement starts to feel easier again.

Training on varied surfaces helps your nervous system react quicker, your joints stay more controlled, and your steps feel steadier outside the clinic, not just inside it.

Real life isn’t flat. Your rehab shouldn’t be either 💚
Drop a comment if balance feels harder on uneven ground.

If you care for a loved one after stroke, this is your reminder 🤍

What you do every day matters more than you may realize.
The patience. The encouragement. The steady presence during hard moments.

Progress doesn’t always look big or fast. Sometimes it shows up quietly because of the support you give.

And just as important… you matter too.
Taking care of yourself helps you keep showing up for them.

💬 If this speaks to you, save it or share it with a caregiver who needs the reminder.

Falls rarely happen when we are ready for them.
That’s why balance training shouldn’t stop at standing still ⚖️

With the Slip Trainer, we help patients practice reacting to real-life challenges like sudden slips, uneven ground, or unexpected loss of balance, all in a safe, supported environment.

This kind of training helps retrain the brain, improve stepping responses, and build confidence where it matters most. In everyday life.

Book an assessment to see if slip training is right for you.

Caring for someone with Parkinson’s? Here’s a quick guide to make daily life a little easier 👇

✅ Move a little, every day – even 5–10 minutes adds up.
✅ Consistency beats intensity – small routines stick better than big bursts.
✅ Use helpful cues – say “big steps,” “heel first,” or count out loud to guide movement.
✅ Plan around energy – tackle harder tasks during their best hours, then rest.
✅ Support, don’t take over – safety first, independence matters.

Keep this handy for a quick reminder on tricky days. 💛

Falls happen fast.
Getting up too fast can make them worse💥

Before you move, take a moment to check your body. Can you move your legs? Does anything feel off? Is the pain sharp or getting worse?

That short pause can protect you from turning a minor fall into a serious injury.

And if falls or balance issues are becoming a pattern, that is your sign to get assessed. Training balance, reaction time, and strength can make everyday movement feel safer again.

💬 Save this for later or send it to someone who needs to see it

If walking has felt scary or “off” after a neurological condition, you’re not alone.

GaitKeeper gives you a little body-weight support so you can practice walking with less fear of falling. It helps you start gait training sooner, clean up step timing and coordination, and lets your therapist guide your posture, step length, and weight shift in real time. As you get stronger and steadier, we slowly reduce the support.
