Not all supplements are made equal (and neither are their suppliers).

Counterfeit or fake supplements aren’t always obvious but can be identified with a quick authenticity check.

Before you make your next supplement order, check these 6 things:

✅ Consider the retailer and if they have high quality standards for the supplements they sell.

✅ Examine the packaging and look for mistakes, misspelled words, or unfamiliar fonts on the label.

✅ Look for third-party supplement testing seals can that confirm current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and label claims such as non-GMO and gluten-free certification.

✅ Inspect the supplement for abnormally pungent smells or irregular textures.

✅ Do quick web search of the brand. Original supplements typically have a website with a clear brand story highlighting their ingredient sourcing and manufacturing practices.

✅ Consider the price of the product. If a premium brand is being sold for 40% less than its MSRP on other sites, it is a major red flag. Quality ingredients have a fixed cost and prices that are "too good to be true" usually are.

The best way to avoid fake supplements? Take the detective work out. Buying directly from a trusted source, like Fullscript, where products are selected, tested, and distributed at high-quality standards.

Supplements only help when what’s on the label is in the bottle.

The best way to ensure this for you and your patients is getting your supplements from a source you can trust.

Before making your next supplement order, consider whether they meet the following quality standards:

✅ Does the retailer rigorously test products for purity and potency?

✅ Are the products made by trusted manufacturers with high-quality ingredients?

✅ Does the retailer source products directly from suppliers?

✅ Does the retailer store products in FDA-regulated, specialized facilities?

High-quality care starts with supplements you can believe in.

Don’t forget to keep your NPI number up to date!

An NPI number or “National Provider Identifier” is a 10-digit provider identifier used in HIPAA standard transactions.

Whether you’re a solo provider or a large organization, you’ll need one if you’re a HIPAA-covered provider who transmits health information electronically.

If you don’t have one yet, that’s okay too! Applying for one is easy, and it’s totally free.

Our Story

With the dream of building her own small private practice right out of Naturopathic Medical school, Dr. Alanna Dyment was eager to get started on the logistics and planning involved in getting her business up and running.

When developing her business plan, Alanna discovered the challenges of building her own supplement dispensary – especially the huge investment required to stock inventory, and the on-going costs of replacing expired products. She also factored in the time it would take to set up accounts with suppliers and manage restocking and pricing her inventory. The effort and investment required to manage an in-house dispensary seemed wasteful and inefficient. She was determined to find a better way to dispense.

Alanna shared her problem with her husband, Brad Dyment, and his business partner and close friend, Kyle Braatz. Kyle and Brad had a history of building successful business and non-profit ventures together, and they were eager for a new challenge with a meaty business problem and a worthwhile cause. After an evening of brainstorming at their kitchen table, Alanna, Brad, and Kyle came up with a simple solution: a Direct to Patient Model that would change supplement dispensing forever.

With Alanna as their first medical advisor, Kyle and Brad set out to build a business that would connect suppliers, practitioners, and patients together in one place and platform.
