We’re so proud to share our recent partnership with IWSH (International Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Foundation) and ISEAD (Indigenous Skills, Employment and Apprentice Development) on a meaningful project with Walpole Island First Nation.
This project is about reconciliation in action — building relationships, trust, and opportunity through the skilled trades. Together, our volunteers helped revitalize Walpole Island’s 40-year-old Community Centre, replacing outdated plumbing with high-efficiency fixtures that drastically reduce water use and ease strain on the community’s septic system.
Beyond the upgrades, the true impact came from collaboration. Local community members trained alongside UA volunteers, gaining hands-on experience and pride working on their own community centre — the heart of the community.
This is what benevolence looks like in action: using our skills to make a lasting, positive impact. A huge thanks to everyone who made this possible—IWSH, ISEAD, OPTC, UA Locals 527, 663 & 46, EPSCA, and all our generous partners and volunteers.
Everyone deserves access to clean water and sanitation—and this is just the beginning.
