Shambhala Day Celebration
Welcome Fire Horse!
Wednesday, February 18
10:00am - 2:00pm
Bring a Dish to Share!
Join us for our practice and celebration of the Year of the Fire Horse! Shambhala Day marks the beginning of the lunar new year and is one of the most important Shambhala traditions. Based on the traditional Tibetan New Year's celebration of Losar, the day is calculated astrologically according to the Tibetan lunar calendar, and changes every year to coincide with the annual lunar cycles.Shambhala Day is a time for us to express the wealth and richness of our spiritual and cultural heritage through feasting, conviviality, elegance and pomp.
This year, we shall have a guided practice of the Shambhala Sadhana, a liturgy practice meant to help us remember and connect with the basic goodness of ourselves and others. This will be followed by a potluck lunch and an international address hosted by Shambhala Online.
Donations will be our gift to the Shambhala Global Services team for all of their help and support in this past year. Please bring a small dish to share for our community lunch.
