CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:

SOC - FATHER - Male - 35 To 50
Caucasian. The father is at odds with himself. He is a successful entrepreneur who is in charge of the family business. He is working hard to ensure that the business is creating generational wealth for the family, but his focus on the business is creating distance between him and his son (because he can’t find the time to spend with him)

SOC - MOTHER - Female - 35 To 50
Caucasian or Asian. The mother is an empathetic character who bears concern for both her son and her husband. She reveals the dire nature of the situation in the home. She lovingly consoles and discusses matters with her son, and also looks at her husband with concern throughout the Web-mercial.

SOC - SON - Male - 10 To 14
Multi-Racial. The son just wants to spend time with his dad. He wants to go for a hike in the forest and chat. He wants his dad to stop working and devote the attention required to build the relationship that they already have. Throughout the Web-mercial he checks in with his dad to see if he’d like to spend time with him and the answer is always, “sorry.. not now I’m too busy”. He often retreats to being alone, working on a painting (of him and his parents in the forest spending quality time together). In these moments he is concentrated on his art, but the audience can see at times that he is unhappy inside while painting.

SOC - ADVISOR - Male - 30 To 40
Caucasian or Asian. The advisor is an intent listener and a problem solver for the protagonist (father). He listens in the consultations and then in other scenes walks the father through processes that will help him improve their business. They go through financial documents and presentations. Work together on a whiteboard, and conduct business planning discussions that will help the father create a business that affords him more time to spend with his family.

PURPOSE:

MMCasting is currently casting an incredible and exciting film project on behalf of CaribbeanTales Media Group.

MMCasting and CaribbeanTales Media Group is offering an opportunity for those who belong to communities that are underrepresented and need support to get a strong foothold into the casting services industry. This opportunity is open to anyone who is Black, Indigenous, Racialized, LGBTQ2S+, and/or living with disabilities. Our goal is to provide training to the selected candidate and to give them a strong foundation of resources and skills to eventually work as an independent Canadian casting director for any media platform in the professional entertainment industry.

Storyline Storyline Thriller - Horror. Vanessa, a teenager wanting to be pretty and popular, is convinced by her best friend Stacey to play a supernatural game that will bring her wish to life. When the game takes a turn for the worst, Vanessa’s wish may have taken a twisted turn. A school guidance counsellor is sent to her home to help. What seems to be just a therapy session quickly becomes a revelation of a much larger world of demons, deals, and devils and those who fight against them.

(Lead) Vanessa Female 15 - 16
Any ethnicity. We are looking for a strong actress, preferably with prior experience and formal training. Vanessa is a High School student and not popular. On the outside, she’s an outcast and inconsequential. But on the inside, like everyone else, she wishes to be noticed, appreciated, and special.
