❌Endometriosis is just a period-related condition.
At any stage of the cycle, endometriosis can affect digestion, bladder function, energy, sexual health and more!

❌Pregnancy will cure endometriosis.
Pregnancy may temporarily change symptoms for some, but it does not cure endometriosis.

❌Endometriosis severity can be measured by pain.
Pain does not always correlate with the severity of the disease- someone with minimal lesions can have severe pain and vice versa (it is so important to consider all potential sources of pain for best management)

❌Endometriosis is just a reproductive disease.
This couldn’t be more wrong- endometriosis is a whole body, multi-system disease. (Which is why it requires a whole body approach👏)

❌If someone looks healthy, they must be feeling fine.
Endometriosis is often invisible from the outside- someone can appear fine while experiencing significant pain, fatigue and more!

Your care team may include nutritionists, physicians, surgeons, pelvic floor physiotherapists, mental health specialists, acupuncturists and more. Each contributes a distinct perspective and skill set which is necessary for a multi system disease.
