January is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month
At Perley Health, we believe that every Senior and Veteran living with dementia deserves to thrive with dignity, purpose, and the highest quality of care.
In recognition of this community and this month, we highlight our community services and person-centred approach that focuses on physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Living Well at Home™
Our frailty-informed community services help Seniors and Veterans stay safe and connected while aging in place:
• Adult Day Program: Structured social and wellness activities in a dementia-friendly environment.
• Respite House: A safe, home-like 12-bedroom bungalow for short-term daytime or overnight stays, including a dedicated bed for Veterans.
• Assisted Living for High-Risk Seniors: 24/7 support and personalized care plans to help individuals maintain independence at home.
Specialized Care
We offer unique, high-level clinical support for those with complex needs:
• Specialized Behavioural Support Unit (SBSU in the Gatineau Residence): Providing a secure environment for those with responsive behaviours, supported by a high staff-to-resident ratio and consultation with The Royal.
• Secure Long-Term Care Units: Two dedicated units providing safe, enhanced care for Veterans and Seniors.
• Unique Veteran-Care: Priority access to respite and specialized programming specifically for Veterans.
Leading Through Innovation
• Supported by our Perley Health Centre of Excellence in Frailty-Informed Care™, we don’t just provide care - we advance it. By investing in research and sharing breakthroughs in frailty-informed care, we help to improve the lives of Seniors and Veterans across the region.
