We started the morning off with some Active Drumming with a full class, then in the afternoon we baked brownies, enjoyed them at our snack social and had a VERY COMPETITIVE game of Jeopardy- Men Vs. Women! The Women won this one, but not by too much! Looking forward to the next competition.

Today we are gathered to celebrate International Women’s Day, a day that honors the strength, courage, and achievements of women around the world.

What makes today especially meaningful is that we invited the to join us in an afternoon tea, where our residents had the opportunity to provide wisdom and advice to a younger generation.

To our Residents: you paved the way. Through your resilience, your hard work, and your determination, you helped shape the world the younger generation is growing up in today. The opportunities many girls have now exist because women before them spoke up, worked hard, and refused to give up.

To our Girl Guides: you represent the future. Your curiosity, kindness, and leadership will help continue building a world where everyone has the chance to succeed and be heard.

Days like today remind us that while generations may be different, we are connected by shared experiences—friendship, courage, and the belief that we can make a difference.

So today, let’s celebrate the women who came before us, the women who stand beside us, and the women who are still growing into who they will become.

May we continue to support one another, learn from one another, and lift each other up.

Stirling won 3 silvers and 2 Bronze Medals today in the Riverstone 2026 Winter Olympics!! 🥉🥉🥈🥈🥈 There were five events, and we won a medal in each event! Way to go team Stirling! 👏👏

Special thank you to our Volunteer David for carrying the torch during the opening ceremonies! David was an offical torchbearer in the 2010 Winter Olympics! So it was an honour to have him kick off the opening ceremonies for us!

Congratulations to all of our residents for competing in the games! And thank you to all of the Communities for coming to participate in the games, it was a pleasure hosting you!
