On New Year’s Eve, with guidance from one of our wonderful family members, residents rolled up their sleeves and made Olliebollen, a beloved Dutch treat often called Dutch doughnuts. 🍩
Olliebollen have a long history in the Netherlands, dating back hundreds of years. Traditionally made with yeast dough, lightly fried, and dusted with powdered sugar, they’re most commonly enjoyed on New Year’s Eve. Many families see them as a way to welcome good luck and start the year on a sweet note.
More than just a delicious treat, this activity was about sharing traditions, stories, and time together. Moments like these fill our home with warmth, connection, and a true sense of celebration as we welcome the year ahead.
