Even though there is inherent danger in riding a motorcycle, it is still an activity that I enjoy doing despite the fact that I am an orthopedic surgeon who treats the patients of motorcycle accidents. Ride within your skillset and wear protective gear to maximize your saftey.

Protect The Patient At ALL Costs!

Medical detractors would have you believe that the ENTIRE medical system is corrupt these days. While I won't deny that there are some people involved in healthcare with less than ideal motives, the vast majority of us in healthcare are just here to provide the best care that we know how to for our patients. We did NOT go to school for all those years just to figure out how to trick you.

Insulin is an anabolic storage hormone...the more often your body sees it, the more weight you will gain. Keep your levels low to optimize your body weight and your metabolic function.

The experience of pain is rather subjective so it is challenging to communicate about its intensity in a consistent manner. One person's 10 out of 10 is another person's 3 out of 10. So to communicate effectively about pain, we need a shared frame of reference so that those experiencing pain and those who are treating it can truly understand one another.

Skepticism is on of the basic tenets of the scientifc method. But in order for science to advance, the skepticism has to be done in good faith, it can't simply be to deny everything that doesn't agree with your own position. Always ask questions about the information that you see or hear, but be open to changing your position if the data warrants it.
