Today, we recognize Data Privacy Day.

Privacy isn’t a feature. It’s a standard.

At INEX, our tools are built on clear data principles:

Minimize data: we collect only what’s necessary.
Limit use: information is used only for its intended purpose.
Maintain user control: families and executors keep ownership of their information.

These principles also guide how we help protect families after a death.

When we are notified, we work directly with Canada’s credit bureaus to flag the death and help prevent new credit from being issued in the deceased’s name. This reduces the risk of fraud while keeping unnecessary data exposure to a minimum.

When people are asked to share sensitive information, there is no room for shortcuts.

Protecting personal information isn’t optional.
It’s a responsibility.
