05/28/2020
Dear clients, as of May 27, 2020 the Ministry of Health and the College of Massage Therapists have given clearance to resume the practice of Massage Therapy which had been halted due to restrictions in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
I will soon be resuming treatment. In the meantime I wanted to share with you some of the limitations and modifications that will be in place to protect us from risks associated with close contact in the treatment setting. I want to assure you that I take the pandemic seriously and am doing everything I can to proceed carefully.
The return to practice will be gradual and there will be a limited number of appointments available. I will be directly contacting a number of clients and priority will be given to those whose condition are most pressing and have the greatest likelihood for negative outcomes if not treated.
I will be wearing a surgical mask and all clients will be required to wear either an appropriate, clean, home-made mask or a medical grade mask. If you feel you are unable to wear a mask, please contact me so that we can assess whether treatment is appropriate. You may also see me in medical scrubs.
In the interest of observing physical distancing, you will be encouraged to arrive only at the time of your appointment and to depart directly after.
Numerous other infection control measures will be in place including thorough cleaning and disinfection of the room and equipment between each appointment. Clients will be asked to complete a pre-screen in the days before their appointment as well at the time of the appointment.
Until further notice, I will not be offering Thai Massage sessions of appointments of longer than 60 minutes since, in my assessment, these present higher risk scenarios for treatment. I do hope to offer Thai Massage again as soon as possible.
If you have any questions or would llike to consult with me about starting treatment please send a direct message or, better yet, email me at rmt@devinjohnstone.com.
Take care and enjoy the summer weather
Best,
Devin Johnstone RMT
