Meet Sadie 🪴

Dr. Sadie Laronde () is an Anishinaabe Ojibwekwe chiropractor, founding The Effect Healing Collective. She provides trauma-informed care to support clients in their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual healing journey. Her classes support regulation before intensity, blending her clinical and holistic knowledge to build intentional mind-body connections. Sadie brings a steady, yet empowering energy to the studio that is quietly transformative.

1. What drew you to teaching yoga?
The practice of mind-body connection, it felt like freedom!

2. What can we expect in your class?
You can expect a slow, intentional flow centred around Ojibwe teachings & honouring where your body is on that day.

3. What does yoga mean to you?
Yoga to me means having an open heart & mind for my neighbours while questioning the systems that separate us.

This class is free! Community is a living practice: the act of showing up, giving what we can, and receiving support in return. This class is part of that cycle a small way we give back to the people who make this space what it is.

Meet Jade 🍃

Quiet and grounded, Jade creates a space that feels safe, steady, and peaceful. To feel supported without pressure, guided without noise.

What drew you to teaching yoga?
I started practicing yoga at 18, and I had a teacher who deeply impactful in my life. I wanted to start teaching yoga in hopes of sharing her teachings and creating that same kind of impact on the people in my community.

What can we expect from your classes?
During my Rest Yin classes, you can expect non-judgemental release, relaxation, and stretching. I offer lots of options, so you can choose what feels most intuitive to you.

What does yoga mean to you off the mat?
It helps me find compassion for myself and for others around me. It guides me in finding my breath to help ground myself in the stressful moments of daily life.

Jo-Anna will be leading a yoga class on February 16th from 1:00-2:00pm for families with children (5+ years).

Led by Chantal Meda and inspired by influential Black writers such as Octavia Raheem, bell hooks, Tracee Stanley, and Tricia Hersey, each session will explore themes of rest, cultivating stillness, mindfulness, self-
