Get to know Dr. Elise Azzi (she/her), fertility specialist at the Ottawa Fertility Centre.

Dr. Azzi attended the University of Ottawa for all her medical training. She is the Director of Women’s Health at the University of Ottawa, Department of Family Medicine. Dr. Azzi oversees the Women’s Health curriculum of the family medicine training program and serves as the Program Director for the Women’s Health fellowship.

She is passionate about providing high-quality, evidence-based, and patient-centered care while addressing the unique needs of women throughout their lifespan. Her focus includes general fertility assessments, PCOS-related infertility, and patients seeking donor s***m insemination. She speaks English, French, and Arabic! Happy holidays from the Ottawa Fertility Centre team!

Please note that our clinic is open for diagnostic testing, urgent fertility preservation, IVF and FET procedures through the Christms and New Year's stat holidays (Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1). Our phone lines will also remain open throughout the holiday season. We look forward to supporting your fertility goals.

The last IUI will be December 24th, resuming January 2nd. Drop-in bloodwork is closed on Dec. 25-26 and January 1st.

We're delighted to announce that the Ontario Fertility Program (OFP) is helping us expand access to care at Ottawa Fertility Centre!

The recent OFP expansion triples the number of families who can benefit from publicly funded fertility treatments. With OFP funding, we can offer our patients shorter wait times, faster access to fertility care, and more funded IVF cycles. Access to funded fertility services is available to anyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or family status.

Get to know Dr. Delani Kotarba (she/her), consultant and founding partner at the Ottawa Fertility Centre.

Dr. Kotarba earned her Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Toronto and completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology and fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology at the University of Ottawa. She has been practicing reproductive medicine since 1994 and served as the Medical Director of the Ottawa Fertility Centre from 2014-2018.

Dr. Kotarba’s practice includes all areas of reproductive care, with particular interest in in-vitro fertilization and reproductive endocrinology. Get to know Dr. Clara Wu (she/her), fertility specialist at the Ottawa Fertility Centre.

Dr. Wu completed her medical degree at McGill University, her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Saskatchewan, and her fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Ottawa. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology at Harvard University and hopes to bring an evidence-based approach to her fertility practice.

Dr. Wu’s practice includes all areas of reproductive medicine, with a particular interest in recurrent pregnancy loss, recurrent implantation failure, endometriosis, and fertility options for single persons. Today, we’re holding space for all who have lost a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant death.

The journey through fertility and loss can be profoundly painful — and no words can truly capture that grief.

Every year on October 15, people around the world take part in the Wave of Light. At 7 p.m. local time, candles are lit — each one representing love, remembrance, and connection. Together, they create a 24-hour wave of light that circles the globe in honour of the little ones gone too soon.

We invite you to share your light by posting a photo of your candle using to help spread awareness and solidarity.

We're happy to share that the Fertility Friends Foundation Fall 2025 Grant application window is now open!

These grants are available to support individuals and families pursuing fertility care. Funds help cover expenses associated with assisted reproduction such as IVF, egg and s***m donation, and gestational surrogacy in Canada.
