Too often, families caring for a loved one struggling with addiction are left to face these challenges alone – feeling overwhelmed, isolated, and exhausted.
That’s why The Royal is developing a donor-funded Addictions Family Support Program through the Sheila Cudney Client & Family Resource Hub. This program will give families the education, coping strategies, and emotional support they need.
Open to all families, it will include both group and individual formats and help participants understand the impact of addiction on their own lives, build coping skills, and reduce isolation.
No one should face this alone. Thanks to community support, more families will get the help they need to support themselves – and their loved ones.

As Julia’s depression and anxiety intensified, it became harder to see a way out. Dark thoughts became her constant companion.

Retired Sergeant Cory Taylor’s journey through PTSD led him to The Royal’s Operational Stress Injury (OSI) Clinic, where he brought forward the idea of using Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB) treatment to his care team. Less than two weeks later, Cory received the treatment for the first time.

His advocacy helped introduce this innovative treatment to The Royal, where it has since helped Cory and others reclaim their life from mental illness.
