Master facilitator Monica Forst's all day in person workshop: Introduction to Schemas, Ego States and psychodrama was a huge success! It was so refreshing and enriching to connect and learn together! Monica has a way of making complex concepts accessible, and they were brought to life through experiential role plays and personal reflection. We left with practical tools for immediate clinical use. Below is a photo of Monica and some of the attendees, including Francis Ouimet, Patrice Yazdanyar, , from Men & Healing, Brooks, MHPO's Past President McCallum, and Vice-President Natalie Bell

Brooks' presentation on visible and invisible disabilities was profound! She's on a mission to help improve the quality of life for those with visible and invisible disabilities, with a special emphasis on adhd and autism.

Deborah has a powerful, conversational style through which she vulnerably wove her lived experience with disability throughout, in such a way that we could really feel the vast daily barriers that interfere with quality of life.

She shared research, resources and leaders in the field of disability advocacy, as well as immediate concrete solutions that we as practitioners can put in place to reduce some of those barriers. If you couldn’t attend, I highly recommend watching the recording of her workshop when it becomes available!

Our Story

We are a voluntary association of practitioners, originally founded in the 1980s by and for EAP professionals. Since then our membership and mandate has expanded to include mental health practitioners, counselling and coaching professionals.

The organization has two major areas of focus:

  • providing professional development workshops at the lowest reasonable cost

  • providing opportunities for you to meet, expand your network and become more familiar with other practitioners, other approaches, and resources for referrals
