Someone asked me this week if the coconut is a superfood...because it seems that if you eat 2 tablespoons of it each day, then you can loose weight, improve your health, have less risk of cancer, etc...well this is marketing!
Sorry to say that one scientific study can't be taken to make a statement about one food! Here is a good picture that resume very well the concept of superfood: there is no superfood! Each food have his own advantage that's why variety is the key!

The new EatWell guide in UK dropped his recommendations for the dairy products from 15% to 8% of the diet. A cut of almost 50%. Vegetal milks have been added to the eatwell guide. I think it is time to change our Canadian food guide and, PLEASE, without any food industry lobby!

Did you know the existence of the Doomstay vault, the World's most unique bank of seeds. It is located just before the land of North Pole, in Norway.
It's built to warehouse backup copies of all the world's crops - 1.5 billion seeds - in case of a catastrophe (could be a war, a natural disaster,etc).
But, according to me, the catastrophe already started: "seeds were used to be passed down through families. But today farmers are planting mass-produced industrial seeds. The upside is more food. The downside is the family variety goes extinct."
In 1800's, in USA, 7100 varieties of apples existed, today, we have only 300...USA have lost 86% of apple's varieties!
It is a good thing that we keep those seeds in a safe place, but it is not reassuring me regarding the future we are giving to our children...

Good memories about food is so powerful! Try to remember about a dish that your grandmother or auntie prepared for you or for a family event...if you have been forced to eat it then you might dislike it, but if it was a good time then you may feel the happiness and maybe you want to eat that dish again! See how powerful it is!
