Keep reading for the full review!

I’m always so proud to receive reviews like this, I really do pour my heart and soul into this work because I know you all deserve to be supported and held in this special time!

I have been supporting Allyviah and Lee preparing for the birth of their first baby, who they will be welcoming early next year. I’ve loved hanging out with even in their home and chatting all things birth.

Here’s what they said:

“Mandy was absolutely amazing! She took the time to explain everything to my partner and me in clear, reassuring detail, helping us understand all of our options during pregnancy and labour. Her calm, caring approach really put our minds at ease and made us feel supported every step of the way. Mandy shared so much valuable advice and so many helpful resources that made preparing for birth - and even the unexpected - feel manageable and positive. We couldn’t recommend her highly enough; she’s friendly, approachable, and truly passionate about what she does. Mandy really knows her stuff!”

Thank you so much guys I appreciate this feedback so much 🥹

If you too would like to feel supported in preparing for your birth, or maybe you would like someone to be there with you on the day, please get in touch to chat about what I can offer!

This is of course a very personal and special birth story for me. The one that made me an auntie. Very grateful to be having this conversation!

I hope you’ll join us or catch up on the replay 💖

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY SWEET ALBA TODAY!

Two years ago, Alba was born freely, instinctively and way harder than I ever imagined. We narrowly missed the first that year, but we did at least get to experience our own physiological birth 😂

Her birth - at home unassisted - was a huge test of trust - in my body, my baby in the beliefs I had come to hold leading up to that day.

I’ve given birth five times, four at home, but the only times I’ve experienced truly physiological birth were when I was completely alone - by accident or in this case by choice. That’s not a judgment, just an observation. Because even at home, even with wonderful midwives - our maternity system isn’t really built to protect physiology.

That doesn’t mean empowered, positive birth can’t exist within it - it absolutely can - but physiology asks for things the system doesn’t always know how to give: privacy, time and trust.

Every birth has taught me something new. Every experience has unravelled a layer of what I thought I knew about birth, about myself, about power - and about the maternity system. I walk forward with the wisdom gained - not to centre my own story but to bring that depth of understanding to then hold space for others in their own stories.

This is a vulnerable share for me so please be kind. I am so grateful to have had this experience and I’m so grateful for what it taught me and the wisdom each of my births has given me.

WORLD PHYSIOLOGICAL BIRTH WEEK - MONDAY 6 to SUNDAY 12 OCTOBER!

This coming week I’ll be going live each day to chat all about physiological birth - what it means, why it matters and how we can better understand and support it. I’d love for you to join me in these conversations - whether you’re curious, preparing for birth or simply passionate about protecting birth physiology.

I’ll be joined by some wonderful birthworkers for these conversations:

💖 Monday - the fabulous a badass Irish doula and activist based in Northamptonshire, England and one half of the brains behind the original World Physiological Birth Week two years ago. We’ll chat about why it’s so important to have these conversations and celebrate physiological birth.

💖 Tuesday - the wonderful Hayley, .of.pearl_doula based in Gloucestershire, England. Together we’ll speak about the very important topic of physiological birth after baby loss.

💖 Thursday (Part 1) – Alex, a doula of many years who now trains other doulas via - and who also happens to be my wonderful doula mentor. I can’t wait to hear more about Alex’s experience supporting birth and how she trains other doulas to best support their clients.

💖 Thursday (Part 2) – my beautiful friend and doula colleague Magdalena .in.birth a doula based in Leeds, England. Our chat will focus on physiological birth from the perspective of the baby.

I’m so excited to host these conversations and I hope you will join us live. if you can’t make it all conversations will be saved onto the grid after.

A little note: I’m limiting my own time on social media just now, so this is a pre-scheduled post. As always, if you’d like direct support please reach out to me via WhatsApp (link in bio).

SERVICES SPOTLIGHT: A WEE CHAT

Over the next couple of weeks I’ll be sharing more details on the packages and services I’m going to be offering moving forward. The ‘wee chat’ has been really popular so it’s here to stay!

Sometimes you don’t need a full antenatal course or you’ve already done one but just have a niggling question you want to get some perspective on. You might have had something come up in your pregnancy. Or you might even just want a wee but of time to connect and relax. My ‘wee chat’ sessions are perfect for this.

Check out the details and how to book, and as always let me know if you’ve any questions!

HOW TO CREATE AN ASSERTIVE AND EMPOWERING BIRTH PLAN

If you’re pregnant, you’re probably thinking about writing a birth plan. Or maybe it’s not even crossed your mind yet - either way this is for you.

When you think about a birth plan you’re probably thinking of a written document that sets out your plans and preferences for birth. And to an extent this is what it is. Its purpose is to communicate your wants, needs and boundaries to whoever looks after you or supports you in your labour and birth.

But in reality, a piece of paper is a piece of paper. A birth plan is so much more than just a written document. It is actually quite a journey of self discovery. Understanding and exploring your intentions and wishes as well as any fears or barriers that you might come up against. Exploring your options. Considering alternatives.

This guide is not a template or a place for you to tick boxes stating your wishes - I don’t think there is a one size fits all template for this. Instead, the guide walks you through the stages I believe are important to get to the point of having ‘a plan’.

To access the guide click the link in my bio or comment PLAN below to be sent the link directly.

A wee disclaimer: by downloading the guide you’re joining my mailing list, it just helps me to send information out to you about my services, interesting developments or special offers. I won’t spam you constantly I promise (hate it myself) but you can also unsubscribe at any time.

Let me know what you think and if you find the guide helpful! And you’re ready to dig a bit deeper to understand your wants, needs and boundaries that will inform the ‘plan’ check my website to book in a call.
