POSTAL STRIKES + CONTACT LENS DELIVERIES

As you're probably aware Royal Mail workers are planning further strike action throughout December. Please try not to be caught out with no contact lenses over the festive season.

If you need any in the next few weeks, it is recommend ordering them from your optical practice if that is possible.

During the current lock down restrictions Ferguson Optometry remains open and available for all you eyecare needs. To book in call 01506631656. Under Scottish Government guidelines you are allowed to travel for healthcare appointments.
We are running a locked door policy to limit the number of people in the practice.
All staff will be wearing appropriate PPE.
When attending for your appointment please wear a mask and do not wear gloves to come in to the practice. We have hand sanitiser available for you to use on entry and exit for everyones safety.

Ferguson Optometry will be back to offering Free NHS Routine eye examinations as of Monday 3rd August. To book call us on 01506 631656.
We look forward to seeing you all soon.
Full appropriate PPE will be worn by all staff.

Hi Everyone

As eye care enters Phase 2 tomorrow we are looking forward to being able to see you face to face for emergency and essential eye care as appropriate. If your need is non urgent or routine we ask that you wait until Phase 3.

If you have any Coronavirus symptoms or anyone in your household has then please do not attend the practice and contact us to change your appointment.

We shall be performing telephone triage prior to anyone attending the practice and will be operating on a strictly appointment only basis. There will be no walk-in appointments available.

Staff will be wearing all required PPE.

Appointment times have been extended to allow for social distancing and sanitising of the practice between patients.

If possible please attend on your own to minimise the number of people in the practice.

The main thing we ask is that where possible you wear a face covering to all appointments. Hand sanitiser is available on the desk to sanitise your hands on entering the practice.

The plea comes from Optometry Scotland, a non-profit making organisation that represents the views of opticians to the Scottish Parliament.

At Ferguson Optometry we take your health and our social responsibility very seriously. With immediate effect, we are open only to EMERGENCY and ESSENTIAL eye care patients.
This includes red eyes, sore eyes, acute loss of vision., sudden increases in flashing lights or floaters. Really anything that might be deemed to be seen on an urgent basis. Therefore we shall not be offering routine eye tests or contact lens aftercares for the foreseeable future. We are able to offer advice to patients who need it but all normal appointments must wait until the current Coronavirus situation is over. This decision was taken by the Scottish Government and NHS Scotland and affects all opticians and dentist practices.. It is to protect you as patients and us as clinicians.
During this time we shall be operating reduced hours and seeing patients on a case by case basis.
Monday to Friday 10.00 am to 14.00 pm or outwith by appointment for emergency care

We would like to run this on an prearranged appointment only basis. This shall allow us to adhere to strict social distancing guidelines and keep the practice disinfected between patients.
If you break your glasses, require repairs or further supplies of contact lenses/solutions please contact us in the same way. Like always we strive to help you out wherever we can. Any questions contact us.
