🌿 Wildlife at Trent Valley Crematorium 🌿

At Trent Valley Crematorium, the peaceful surroundings are shared with an incredible variety of wildlife, making the grounds a true haven for nature.

Our Chapel Pond is home to beautiful Koi Carp, gliding calmly beneath the water’s surface, while overhead you may spot buzzards and other birds of prey soaring gracefully above the landscape.

Closer to the ground, ducks wander the water’s edge, hares can often be seen darting across open spaces, and pheasants add a splash of colour to our grounds. We’re also proud to care for our resident bees, playing an important role in supporting local biodiversity.

These gentle encounters with nature help create a place of reflection, calm, and connection — where wildlife and people coexist in quiet harmony. 🐝🦅🐟

🌿 Creating a Memorial Garden 🌿

Designing a private memorial garden is a meaningful way to honour a loved one while creating a peaceful, lasting place for reflection and remembrance.

From choosing the right location and garden size, to selecting shapes, granite setts and stone chippings and a special tree or rose every detail can be thoughtfully considered to reflect your loved one’s life and personality. Personal touches such as plaques, or bespoke features such as special artwork or a cameo can make the space truly unique and comforting.

A memorial garden offers a quiet sanctuary — a place to remember, reflect, and feel close to those we hold dear. 💚

✨ If you’re considering creating a memorial garden, Caroline, Daryl and Peter are here to help you every step of the way — offering guidance, care and support to create a fitting tribute. Contact us today to start the conversation. ✨

A Moment to Reflect

In Kingsmead’s hush of bloom and breeze,
I rest where quiet drifts through trees—
A gentle space where memories stay,
And love leans close in soft array.

Here, in Trent Valley’s tender light,
The heart finds calm, the world grows slight—
A sacred pause, serene and true,
Where time stands still to comfort you.

🕊 Our Kingsmead Memorial Garden offers a gentle space to pause, breathe, and reconnect with the moments that matter most. Surrounded by soft blooms and quiet pathways, it’s a place where memories find room to settle and where reflection comes naturally.

Whether stopping for a moment of stillness or honouring loved ones, Kingsmead provides a peaceful sanctuary for anyone seeking calm and comfort. Let this garden hold your thoughts—and lighten your heart. 💛

✨ FAQ Friday: What Is the Committal at Trent Valley Crematorium?
What is the Committal?

It’s the final part of the service where loved ones say their last goodbye, offering emotional closure.

🙋What happens during it?

Families can choose whether the curtains close or the coffin remains visible until they leave — both are personal preference and always respected. At Trent Valley Crematorium, the coffin stays in place until everyone - including funeral staff - have left the chapel.

❓Why is it important?

The committal offers a gentle, meaningful moment of farewell and shared support.

🕊Can it be personalised?

Yes — readings, prayers, poems, or quiet reflection can be included. Our chapel supports personalised, multi‑faith services.

For more information or if you would like to arrange a show round please contact 01332 321064.
