Issue 2 of our newspaper is now out!!!

As well as the copies that are being sent out over the Derby area in the next few days - with existing subscriber copies being sent out first-class on Monday - there’s lots of ways that you can get your hands on one.

In issue 2 we look into the wonderful history of the Derby Pyclets, examine the story of Friar Gate bridge and the work done by the Friends of Friar Gate Bridge, learn about the life of Joseph Pickford – the inspiration for, and architect of, Pickford’s House Museum – one of the three wonderful Derby Museums, take a fond look back at Thurman & Malin’s, look into the fascinating history of Ward’s of Friar Gate – courtesy of Ian Griffiths, and find out all about the work of Derby Borough Architect Charles Herbert Aslin, and his legacy that still stands today, from Mark Miley of Derbyinpictures.

Your role at Spectrum will vary from call to call. Here at Spectrum Homecare we believe that our service users see the same familiar faces which means you can build good relationships with the people you support.
During your call time you will be asked to cover a variety of tasks depending on the service users requirements and needs.
This may include
Personal care,
Administering/dispensing medication,
Cleaning,
Laundry,
Home cooking/meal preparation,
Errands such as shopping, collection of medication
Companionship and hobby time
Using equipment such as hoists and stand aids
Attending and supporting with medical appointments
Liaising with other professionals to ensure needs are met
Going out for lunch, local events, shopping trips and days out
