Marking Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day holds deep significance for many of our residents whose family histories are touched by war, and today we will listen as they share memories from the past. The home will hold a period of silence and make sure that we honour the sacrifice of people in the two World Wars and other conflicts. We hope that going forward we can all learn to live in a more peaceful and harmonious world. We should never forget the sacrifices of those who fought so that we can live as freely as we do today.

Halloween Fun!

Our residents and staff had a fantastic time at the end of last week when we held our Halloween Party. There were loads of spooky decorations, costumes, food, and music for everyone to enjoy. Fun and laughter was the order of the afternoon and everyone said they would like to have a Halloween Party every month! Well there's a little thing called Christmas coming, so maybe we better get that out of the way first!

The sky’s the limit!…..

The lovely residents of Manorfields would like to say a huge thank you to several people who recently joined together to raise a staggering amount of money for our residents' fund. Pictured in the sky diving photos are our Head of Care, Marie’s husband Pete, and her Granddaughter Rhianna. They recently undertook a sponsored skydive to raise funds for our residents. This brave effort was brilliantly supported by our local pub, The Norman Arms. Landlord Stuart (seen presenting the cheque) held a fun day in support of the sponsored skydive, and received donations from all his customers. A brilliant £1300 was raised in total.

We can’t thank everyone enough. What an amazing effort on the part of Pete and Rhianna, and Stuart and his customers at the pub. It is difficult to put into words just what this will mean to our residents, but every penny will be spent making sure they can live life to the full and enjoy their activities and trips. It means so much to us and them - so a huge thank you once again to everyone involved.

Games Galore!

Our lovely residents here at Manorfields love nothing better than to indulge in a games session. Everything from Bingo to Dominoes - they will play it all. Games are a terrific way of aiding concentration and raising engagement amongst our residents. There are some competitive characters in the home, and also some good sports! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves taking part in the different games and are looking forward to the next session.

Happy Birthday x 2!!

There are double Birthday celebrations at Manorfields today.
Two of our lovely residents have been celebrating their special day at the same time. Francis has reached the milestone of his 90th year, and Josephine has turned 85. Here are some pictures of fabulous Birthday cakes being enjoyed. Happy Birthday to both of our wonderful residents.
