📣 PRACTICE HALF DAY CLOSURE - WEDNESDAY 19th November

Dear Patients,

We are closed in the afternoon of Wednesday 19th of November from 1:30pm onwards for mandatory staff training for both clinical and non-clinical members of our team.

Should you require any urgent healthcare, please contact 111.

The surgery will be back open as usual at 8am on Thursday 20th of November.
Please note that this mandatory closure applies to both the Alvaston Surgery and the Aston Surgery.

Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

❗ Important message to patients ❗-

📣 Our junior doctors will be on strike from Friday 14th November - Tuesday 18th November.

Alvaston and Aston surgeries will still both be running as normal and our GPs will still be working, but you may find it harder to receive an appointment. We ask that you respect our staff and be patient with us.

NHS services will be impacted. Due to lack of appointment availability, you may be directed to 111 or 999 in some cases.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding.

Important announcement -

From 1st October 2025, we’re changing how you get advice and treatment at the surgery.

All requests will start with a simple online form. You will be able to access these forms on our website from that date, and submit requests between 8:00 AM and 6:30 PM, Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays).

If you can’t complete the form online, our team will still be here to help you over the phone or in-person at reception as normal and submit requests on your behalf.

Please note that these changes do not take effect until the 1st October 2025.

This is a new service that the NHS has rolled out amongst surgeries across England, which means it is a process that is new to all of us - please be patient with our staff as we learn this new procedure.

Due to unforseen circumstances, such as staff sickness, we will be closing the Aston Dispensary this afternoon (12pm onwards).

Aston as a surgery will still be operating as normal and there will be a receptionist present.

Normal opening times should resume from tomorrow, but we will make you aware should they change.

📣❗ IMPORTANT NOTICE 📣❗ -

Due to staff shortages, there have now been some amendments to the opening times at our dispensaries:

Alvaston Dispensary will be shut on Monday 15th September. Aston will be open.

Aston Dispensary will be shut on Tuesday 16th September (there will be no dispenser present). Aston surgery will still be open and will have a receptionist present. We will be accepting patient queries, checking people in for appointments etc. we just won't be able to dispense medication.
Alvaston dispensary will be open.

Normal opening times should resume, but we will make you aware of any changes if needs be.
